Registration is now open for the 2019 annual meeting.

The agenda is here: Annual 2019 APRL San Francisco Agenda,  The meeting has some incredible programs and events lined up, including ripped from the headlines issues, current spins on traditional issues, and the year in review. Panels on Friday, August 9th include topics such as “What’s in a Word? The Succubus, the Twittersphere, the First Amendment, and the Rule of Eights”; “Redacted, Revealed & Recalled:– Revisiting Confidentiality and Inadvertent Transmittal in the Digital Age”; and “Who’s on First? Conflicts and the Conflicted.”

We are also planning a special panel with documentary filmmaker, Yael Melamede about her film, (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies. The panel, “Why Do People Lie and Why Should We Care? The Movie, The Director, and Legal Ethics” is sure to spark (honest) discussion!

The Future of Lawyering Committee is planning programming to continue APRL’s Vegas discussion and momentum. Don’t miss FOL’s panel on Saturday, Revolution in the Wild West & Update on the APRL Futures Effort, which will be followed by everyone’s favorite research boost – The Ethics Game Show Annual Case Law Update! We are also thrilled to announce that Jonathan Arons will host our traditional Saturday Respondent’s Roundtable.

The Thursday welcome reception will be at the Drake Hotel and hosted by O’Rielly & Roche LLP.  At the reception, we will be awarding the prestigious Charles Kettlewell award to Ron Mallen.  The reception will be followed by a dine around.

Also, back by popular demand is the Leadership Mixer for new members and first-time meeting attendees immediately following Friday’s programming. When you register for this meeting you will note that you will be asked if you are a new member or attendee. This will help us assure you receive our red-carpet treatment.

And be sure to sign up to attend APRL’s Friday night dinner at the  Thirsty Bear Organic Brewery—A casual, fun environment where not only the food, drink and the atmosphere are terrific, but the price is (San Francisco) great! http://thirstybear.com/

On Saturday, Ellen Pansky has taken the lead in organizing a wine tasting event at the beautiful urban winery and tasting room, Dashe Cellars in Alameda for Saturday, August 10th.  https://www.dashecellars.com/ On the registration site, please indicate whether you would like to attend. Those who say yes will receive all the necessary follow up information, but no commitment is required. So, if you think you may want to go – be sure to so indicate on your registration!

The hotel reservations are available at http://APRL Annual Meeting 8/7/19-8/11/19  When you make your reservations, please note that the summary of estimated charges may indicate a $29 per day resort fee.  If you book using our block, you will not be charged this fee, as it is excluded from the APRL contract.
