The Westin New York At Times Square
Registration for APRL’s Annual Meeting in New York is now open! Cost is $299 for members.
We will begin on Thursday with the new member lunch, followed by the Board meeting (all welcome) and a cocktail reception nearby at Proskauer.
But the program is what you don’t want to miss (click here for the Full Agenda: Agenda NYC August 2017).
Following up on the Miami Beach programs on the future of proving legal services, we will go straight to the future Friday afternoon with “R2D2 Comes of Age: Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics in the Practice of Law.” You will Meet Ross, the AI legal assistant, who holds the promise of both increasing the legal profession’s efficiency and the public’s access to justice. Visit with the Jury Lab where a lawyer may test the strength of her case by analyzing the facial expressions of a mock jury using the science of emotion recognition technology.
But you won’t want to miss our programs on fee-splitting, the scope of Model Rule 8.4(c) on non-lawyer conduct, how to withdraw from a case and get paid, not sued, and much more.
Dinner Friday night will have spectacular New York harbor views at Pier A Harbor Place. The $150 per person cost includes bus transportation both ways, and a cocktail hour sponsored by Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC.
A conference closing open house will take place from 3 to 7 Saturday at the home of former president Chuck Mokriski. Please indicate whether you may drop in for that.
